Who knew that going to the store could be as healthy as going to the gym? That is the case when you shop at Sprouts, a supermarket committed to supporting companies that give back, remain organic, and produce sustainable products.

Sprouts invites guests to change the way they think about shopping. Their marketing program is all about watching our wallets while supporting locally grown products; Sprouts honors vendors who have become certified B Corporations, which means they have committed to sustainability. Shareholders looking for a way to vote with their pocketbook can rest assured that Sprouts will be marketing products/vendors that have met all necessary criteria and that have received their B Corporation certification. Social responsibility is priority one, rather than making money the first priority.

What is the B Corp Movement all about?

Numerous factors go into applying for a B Corp.  B Corporations guarantee that natural resources are not harmed, no human is exploited, organic guidelines are applied and all goods are sustainably farmed and produced.  These hero businesses commit to using their products as a force of good, which elevates the brand in the eyes of most consumers.  Surprisingly 92% of consumers who filled out surveys have a more positive image of companies who have this certification, while 87% say they would be more likely to trust that company.

Products such as SILK, So Delicious, Wallaby Organic, Vega and Horizon are a few names that you may already have in your refrigerator or pantry.  These brands are part of the Danone North America company, a company dedicated to becoming carbon neutral across the global value chain by 2050 and transitioning to compostable packaging by 2025.

Danone sources 100% of the electricity used at its manufacturing plants from renewable energy and has donated over 23 million meals through community outreach and partnerships.  They also invest in soil health to provide more human health benefits.

It makes me feel better to eat healthy and also know that what I am eating is supporting the world we all live in.  Remember, food can change the world.  I feel good about brands that are bringing a Movement of Life to the forefront of customers’ minds.

So let’s all LIVE, LOVE, EAT!
