Getting Centered and Revitalized This Spring
Spring is a time to restore and revitalize yourself! This is a time when trees sprout and flowers bloom so why shouldn’t you? This spring, it is time to reawaken your bright and lively guru-spirit both inside and out!
One of the best ways to revamp and revive is to schedule some quiet time just for yourself. After the stress of the winter months, it’s time to give yourself a little TLC to shine this spring! Open-toed shoes are coming into season and after months in boots, I’m sure those toes need some lovin’! That means it’s time to treat yourself and your cuticles to a restorative mani/pedi in a lavish massage chair. Another area that may need some TLC this spring is your skin! After those cold winter months, there is nothing better than a good facial to scrub off that dead skin and embrace your bright, smooth, revitalized skin beneath.
Though taking care of your body is important, spring is also a time to rekindle your spirit. One great way to really connect with your inner-self is through yoga; yoga really teaches you to open your mind, body, and spirit. This season, try opening yourself up to the new possibilities to be born for you through the use of a heart opener! Three of my favorites are Locust pose, Fish pose, and Bow pose. Open your heart and let the positive energy in, you will be needing it as the days get longer!
Another great way to connect with yourself is to find a leisure activity that you truly enjoy doing or have been aspiring to give a try. Seek out an outdoor activity, such as hiking or cycling, that allows you to connect with nature and appreciate the beauty and life this season brings. Gardening is another great way to connect with yourself and nature. Watching your garden come to life before your eyes and then feeding off your own crops feeds your body and your soul. When starting your own garden remember to: plan, start small, research & have fun!
If you are looking for something more active, kayaking, hiking or biking are great ways to get outside and get active! I would suggest a hike, bike or horseback ride down one of San Ramon Valley’s historical treasures, the Iron Horse Regional Trail. The Iron Horse Regional Trail spans 32 miles across the San Ramon Valley, which not only provides a great place for you to flaunt your new workout attire and embrace the lively, spring energy, but it also provides a place for the kids to burn off some of their energy. The trail may be 32 miles, but there are many attractions along the way where you can stop off and grab lunch. Another fun, seasonal idea is an Easter Egg Hunt! With Easter approaching, the Iron Horse Trail provides the perfect place for a picnic and an Easter Egg Hunt! So, whether you are seeking a relaxing jog, a solo bike ride, or a fun, spring family outing, the Iron Horse Trail is a great place to relax and leave feeling centered this spring.
All in all, ‘tis the season to revamp, revitalize, and refuel your life. You deserve it, gurus. Until next time, take care of yourselves and rejuvenate your mind, body, and spirit!
